Staying productive during a lockdown is not as easy as it looks. To keep on pursuing your goals that you might have start or just wanting to start might be more challenging than it used to. I have experienced lockdown while I was on my third year of PhD. Suddenly my routine changed 180 degrees, all the plans and projects that should be progressing in our laboratory have to be stopped. We had to find other ways to move forward.
It was hard.
But, there’s always a way to go forward. I always truly believe, that our God will not test us more than what she/he could bear. So we have to keep on moving forward, finding new ways to solve our problems and maybe learn to pivot our plan while still reaching forward to our goal.

In addition, there’s some things that really helped me a lot during these times, as I listed below, and you can watch a short video I’ve recorded.
Here are my top three tips to implement NOW!
1. Wake up early!
Not necessarily to do aaaallllllll your tasks during this time, but the quiet morning is for you to reflect. On why you want to achieve this goal that you set. Why is it so important to you? What makes it hard for you to go forward. And anything that comes to your mind. Journal this down. Put your thoughts into paper.
2. Pick ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU!
If this goal is not that important to you, take a pause for a while and reflect. Maybe that’s not what’s most important to you RIGHT NOW. Get back to No.1, i.e., is this a WORTHY GOAL for you to pursue now?
3. Keep a list of “WHAT I DID TODAY”.
Success doesn’t happen overnight. Keep the track of what you have done. This builds momentum and confidence. And this would help you when you feel really low when the endpoint is looking too far away. Break it down into sub-goals that you can achieve daily, weekly and monthly. Eventually, people will start asking: “How do you do that??” When the fact is, daily actions that aligned with the goal that you want to achieve is what gets you from where you are, to where you want to be.
